2011 Stan Musial World Series
Tournament Rules*
|
|
This
tournament will be conducted
strictly in accordance with Official
American League Baseball Rules as
supplemented or amended by the AABC
handbook. Such variances include:
|
-
Pitcher
Re-entry:
The pitcher may
be removed as a
pitcher to play
another
position, and
may return as a
pitcher if he
was not removed
because of trips
to the mound.
(Note: This
terminates the
use of a DH.)
-
Taking Signs:
The pitcher must
be on the
pitching rubber
when he takes
the signal from
the catcher.
-
Uniforms:
Players,
managers and
coaches (first
and/or third)
must be in
uniform. Shorts
may not
be worn.
- Home
Team: The
home team will
be determined by
the flip of a
coin as early as
possible.
-
Dugouts: The
home team will
occupy the third
base dugout.
-
Pre-game
Warm-ups:
Infield practice
will only be
permitted prior
to a team’s
first appearance
on that field.
- Byes:
Tournament byes
will follow the
true double
elimination
format as
prescribed in
the AABC
Official
Handbook. (Note: A
forfeit is
treated as a win
and not as a
bye.)
- Game
Length: All
games will be
scheduled as nine-inning
games.
- Mercy
Rule: “Ten
after Seven”,
except in games
where the
championship
might be
decided. Rule
203: A game
“shall be
legally
completed after
seven (7)
innings if the
visiting team is
ahead by at
least ten (10)
runs and after
six and one-half
(6 ½) innings if
the home team is
ahead by at
least ten (10)
runs.
- Sliding:
Any runner is
out when the
runner does not
slide legally or
attempt to avoid
a fielder who
has possession
of the ball and
(is) waiting to
make a tag or is
in the process
of fielding the
ball. The ball
is dead and NO
runners shall
advance. If the
runner’s slide
or collision is
flagrant, the
runner shall be
ejected from the
contest.
- Game
Completion:
A game is
legally
completed after
five innings if
the visiting
team is ahead
and after four
and one half
innings if the
home team is
ahead.
- Game
Suspension:
Any game not
legally
completed
because of
inclement
weather or other
unforeseen
developments
shall be a
suspended game
and shall
be resumed from
the point of
suspension.

Equipment:
Helmets with
double ear flaps
shall be worn
while batting
and running the
bases. There
shall be no
exceptions. The
use of
protective
headgear
(hardhat) and a
throat protector
while catching
is required and
mandatory. Base
coaches must
wear a hardhat
in the coaches
box, but ear
flaps are not
required.
- Roster
Accuracy:
The official
roster form of
the AABC is the
only roster form
that can be
utilized for
National
Tournaments. If
during a game, a
team has a
player who is
not on the
roster enter the
game, it will
constitute a
forfeit.
- Stan
Musial World
Series Champion
Determinator:
(As determined
after
consultation
with the AABC
National Office)
If Winner’s
Bracket wins
first game or if
no games are
played, WB is
Champion. If
Loser’s Bracket
wins two games,
LB is Champion.
If Loser’s
Bracket wins
first game and
second not
played,
the tie-breakers
are;
1. Most runs, head-to-head
2. Average runs per games played.
3. Most hits, head-to-head.
4. Average hits per games played..
